They made us work for our keep!

I think the picture of me was taken in the early 70's, maybe 1970 or 1971 when I was two or three.  The picture of Cam was probably 1967 or 1968, around two or three as well.  I like the heart on his sweater, probably a hand me down from his older sisters.

 

Welcome to the sick house!

The only one that has not been sick is the dog. He's faking it in this picture.  Lindsay likes to play nurse and give him check ups.  We've all had a stomach bug in the last few weeks, as well as Lindsay having an achy, fevery thing today.  I think that came over from next door.  I hope we are all well for Graham's birthday tomorrow and New Year's Eve on Wednesday.

I was really really awkward in my youth.  Look how gangly I was!  I was the tallest person in my class up until grade seven, then stopped growing while everyone shot past me.

Snow Cave

We've been so busy playing in the snow.  We don't usually have this much.

Here is what we did the other day.  It looked so beautiful.

I mentioned in the last post that we went to the Hanna Andersson outlet store in Woodinville. It's totally different than what you would think an outlet store would be.  It's just a tiny store, not associated with any "outlet mall", but it has the best deals!  I love the $5 rack and the $10 rack.  I stocked up on a lot of spring outfits for Lindsay and they all match each other so she doesn't look like her dad dressed her!  Their clothes wash up great and last forever.  I like that their pants have a lot of room in them and are made for a little girl, not cut like teenagers clothes for a little girl.

been marked down.  Unfortunately, 

Lindsay is a popular size (120), so there

weren't too many to choose from, but

we found this fabulous one!

Woodinville, Washington - small town, usa

I love going to Woodinville in Washington State.  I love small towns and it has the perfect small town feeling, especially walking in town to all the different shops.  Drape it in a blanket of snow and turn on the Christmas lights and it is absolute bliss!

We went to Woodinville on a secret mission: to pick up Lindsay's present from Santa.  An American Girl doll!  Felicity to be exact.  I had it sent to Cam's cousin's house as it was much cheaper to send it there than to send it to our house in Canada.  Plus, I needed an excuse to pick up some Kringle at Molbacks (www.molbaks.com) and hit the cute little Hanna Andersson (www.hannaandersson.com) outlet store (that's a whole other post!)

The I-5 was just okay most of the way. There was one area where the highway was really rough and icy. They just had their huge snowfall the day before, so things were still a slow-go.  It was worth it to go.  Baden had fun meeting his dog-cousins (3 of them) and we had fun visiting!

the tree!  The world changes for Molly every December (this is her 18th with us) when the Christmas tree arrives.  Once is is decorated and the tree skirt is properly positioned, this is where she takes residence 24/7 until the tree is taken down.  There is just enough room for her to wedge in between the floor and the tree.  She only comes out to eat and use her litter box.  I don't know what it is with it.  Must feel pretty cozy under there.  The extra warmth provided by the Christmas lights. Sigh......must be nice

Well, the snow is falling and falling and falling.  Wouldn't it be nice if it stayed until Christmas?  I hope it does.  Imagine sledding on Christmas day!  I know Lulu and G-man would have a blast.
