Funny Foto Friday

This photo needs a little explanation. We're in Fort Steele, BC on vacation. Cam was pulled out of the audience and put into a dress. That is Lindsay up front in her pioneer garb she wore especially for the visit (or her mom made her wear :) ). She is trying to contain herself, she couldn't believe her dad was up there, in a dress even!

Hmmm....7 things, that's a lot

#1. I collect owls. My kids know that when they go into a thrift store they check the knick-knacks first to see if they can find an owl for their Mumma. Besides figurines, I have an owl lunch box, owl lanyard, owl mug, and people send me links for owls all the time. We even have owls living in our backyard ravine. Whooot.

#2. I'm not a summer person (don't shoot me!). I really prefer Fall or Spring. I hate hot weather and swimming. I do love camping though, and seeing the kids enjoying the summer activities is a lot of fun.

#3. My first choice in traveling would be to visit England, Scotland, Wales. Not the big cities as much, but the backroads, off the beaten path. Would love to see the Goffs, and Nanny and Grandad West (our neighbours grandparent we have adopted)

#4. I love to cook, and bake. I like to make soups, stews, and casseroles, but are never organized to pull it off.

#5. I watch Amazing Race faithfully.

#6. We are renovating the backyard this summer. Cam is building us a screened deck/room that backs onto the ravine/creek. It will have hammock chairs, and enough room for boys to camp out. "Screened" because of our bug problem backing onto a creek.

These boots have been through many a playtime with a particular seven year old girl. I found these treasures at Balue Billlage (as Lindsay calls it). I thought they looked pretty cool and when I looked inside the shoe it said "Naturino", size 33. Score! Italian made leather boots for $3.99!

Someone asked me once where I got her boots. I was too embarrassed to say Value Village, so I just said they were a hand me down. Cool, she said, those boots rock. Haha

I spent under five dollars to make this tutu for Lulu's skating club's Christmas Party. I wanted her to wear something special, but didn't want to spend to much. I remembered reading how to make a tutu from elastic and tulle, so I looked up the instructions and whipped this up in a few hours. All that I did was cut the elastic the size of her waist and sewed the elastic together (you could probably just tie it too!) I cut about 4 yards of tulle into strips double the length of how long I wanted the skirt to be. I then tied each strip to the elastic. I added a bit of shorter sparkly red tulle to make it pop.

I think it turned out okay and didn't cost a lot. I bought her tutu a while ago for her birthday skating party coming up and it cost a lot more!! I wish I had thought about making one before I bought it!
