I'm coveting these boots....

I found these boot in Ingledews around Christmas. They only had one pair of 37's in all of the lower mainland. No 38's or 39's :( I looked online - none. So if you come across a pair, call me! They are by Josef Seibel, Lexia I think they're called.

Looks like I was about two or three in this picture. It was at a Christmas party at the Roma Hall. I have no idea why or how I am up so high. I must be whispering in Santa's ear. I wonder what I asked for?

Bookmarks for Christmas

Everyone is getting a bookmark on their Christmas package this year. I'm going to have these printed at Costco on 12x12, Then I will cut them out, glue front to back and have them laminated. I'm not sure if I'll add a tassel or not. What do you think?

I have to put away my crochet stick and bring out my knitting sticks. These must be made before Christmas.....More Christmasy colours though.

Christmas Traditions

Going to see Santa has always been a Christmas tradition for us. From the first time where

Santa dropped baby Graham, to last year when Graham was skeptical about the whole thing (he's still not sure!)

I love hanging out our pics to see how they have changed over the years. The kids love looking at them too. (Lindsay: Mamma, I don't remember being a baby, how come?)

We've had our "clothesline" since we re-did the kitchen three years ago. It's the best thing (Ikea). It usually changes by seasons or holidays and holds the kids art and photos. They love clipping their spelling tests or prized artwork on to there. For Christmas though, it is especially reserved for Santa pics.

Hoot! Hoot! I am back.............

Trying to make a commitment to journal for my family more often. Maybe even a Way Back Wednesday every now and then!

Simpler times.......This is the photos we used in our adoption portfolio the first time. About 50 lbs. lighter. I stayed around this weight until Lindsay was born. I packed it on with the stress of her adoption and the ongoing stress of raising her.

This was my first communion and confirmation, both in the spring, 1976 and 1979. Don't I look cute in my white dress. That hairstyle is just rockin'. Seriously, it's so retro.

Sunday Night a Craft Night!

We did silhouettes tonight and I really like the way they turned out and the kids loved doing it!  What you can't see here is a "mac-tac" silhouette of their face that we peeled off the art board after they painted the board.  If you want to know how we got to the mac tac silhouette part let me know and I'll email you!

I think I might try variations now like maybe the opposite.  Having them paint the inside and the mac tac on the outer edge.  Maybe black?

One more week!

I don't know wether to laugh or to cry!

Sports Day!

Graham's class had to dress like basketball players.  I think he looked like a cool "retro" b-ball player.  His teacher is amazing!  (She's teaching a 4/5 split next year, my wish would come true if he is in her class again!)

5 minutes of fame............

If you live or have lived in New Westminster, BC, you know about May Day and the Hyack Festival.  You know what being in the "May Queen Suite" meant.  Nerdy me was elected by my schoolmates who felt sorry for me I suppose (I still don't get it as I was definitely NOT popular!)  There were eight schools in New West, so there was eight representatives, one chosen as "May Queen"  and the others had titles like "Registrar Bearer" and stuff like that. 

May Day started in New West back in the late 1800's and is still going strong. Somewhere along the way it turned into a week long festival called the Hyack Festival.  This year, the May Queen is actually a friend of the family.  New Westminster roots run strong.

Those fingerless gloves reminded me of a cast.

"No Pattern" girls skirt....Lots of fun to make

It only took .4 of a metre to do one skirt, and about a metre of trim.  There is no pattern.  It took about 30 minutes to do one.
